Ride Report

Greetings web site followers, from Anchorage airport in Alaska. Killing a few hours here waiting for flight to Vancouver at 1:00am (saves a night's accommodation) ready to collect my waiting Suzuki to tackle the lower 48. Two states down, 48 to go.

4 days in Alaska has been stunning. The weather has been rubbish so I need to surf the net to see if there are any mountains in Alaska. However the highlight has been reaching the Arctic Circle after a 600km round trip up the Dalton Highway, the unpaved gravel road used by trucks to haul goods to and from Prudhoe Bay on the Arctic Ocean. The rest of time I've been riding around the loop between Anchorage > Denali NP > Fairbanks > Delta Junction > Glennallen > Anchorage. I've been on a rented Kawasaki KLR650. Total mileage has been just under 2000kms. But the iconic day was the Arctic Circle slog - miles and miles of tundra & wilderness.

Here are a selection of photos from Alaska.
