Ride Report

A bad start to Connecticut. I was camped in a place called North Stonington. The night was clear and bright as I pitched the tent. At about midnight I heard the first pitter patters on the tent and by 1:00am it was a full on downpour, which continued throughout the night. I now realise it was the advance guard of Tropical Storm Hanna working its way up the eastern seaboard. I just snuggled up in the sleeping bag hoping I had rammed the pegs in firmly. In the morning I got out to see the bike on its side like a stranded heifer. The ground had got so boggy that the side stand had sunk in and over she went. This photo is placed on the web site as penance and remorse for not thinking about my support team a bit more. I carry with me a board for placing under the stand where I park up in soft ground such as turnouts and road verges but was too lazy to use it the very night trouble arose..

This was my view of Connecticut as I blasted down the I-95 through to New Jersey.

This is a typical service area off the inter-state - Mobil & McDonalds.
