Ride Report

Well that was Iowa. A functional ride right across the state from east to west and I chose minor roads to give me some interest. I hate to rate states but Iowa has left me a bit under-whelmed. Maybe it was the route I chose. It was flat, the roads were not that well maintained and it was flat. Iowa was flat, did I mention that? The only town I rode through apart from Muscatine where I crossed the Mississippi from Illinois was Riverside, the future birthplace of Capt James T Kirk. The only things I ate in Iowa were two Krispy Kreme donuts at a petrol station and some old potato chips I found at the bottom of my pannier here at the campsite.

I'm sorry but that's all I can report. OK, I know you want more information. Here goes. The donuts were, let me see, chocolate ripple and custard.
