Ride Report

I feel a bit Kansas-ed out. This was a state, in hindsight, I should have cut the corner of instead of plundering across it. Nothing against Kansas but after Iowa and Nebraska I was ready for a bit of.. bit of.. what? Hard to say. Hills? Corners?

It was a milestone reaching the second centre of the US and thinking of the ocean in a place like this is laughable. Apparently there are citizens of Kansas who have never seen the sea. On the other hand I have never seen soyabean growing before so it's what you're used to I suppose.

My speed crept up a little and I got flashed by an oncoming trooper accompanied by a friendly wave. This is a welcoming state.

I chose back roads because the thought of sitting on long, hot, straight highways seemed a bad choice. So I sat on long, hot, straight back roads instead and realised it doesn't matter what route you choose, the terrain is the same.
