Ride Report

Righto, Oklahoma. 700kms of upright riding. See the route map above? Not too many corners in there.

But Oklahoma was.. was.. nice. Beautiful blue sky, warm, slight breeze blowing and nothing on the roads.

It's just that their roads are arrow straight and that is because there is nothing to go round anyway.

Entering Oklahoma.

Some of my route choices were dodgy.

But my first task was to say farewell to the old chain, sprockets & air filter. I looked for a nice resting place and this one overlooking the rural landscape of Oklahoma seemed right.

More excellent route choices. But back on the main roads let me show you a day riding across Oklahoma.

Is this the way to... oh look if I have to spell out the caption then you don't deserve to get it.

And I gar-run-tee I won't be eating there.

Large bayou special looks good to me.

Ah, gator on a stick. And served with blooming onions too? Cor blimey.

Look left and you see this.

Look right and you see this. It's almost like they knew I ate Texan BBQ beef & ribs last night.

Honey, just bin lookin at last month's figures. Occupancy's down. In fact no-one stayed here. Where d'ya think y'all goin wrong?

The good old rollercoasters still turned up.

So what you're saying is that no-one from Laverne has won Miss America for 41 years?

Watergate.

And then I turned left and rode west through the panhandle. This is what I saw over the handlebars.

Look carefully at this photo. In the distance you can see a train. That's the whole length of it.
